The American Celtic punk group, Dropkick Murphys, is going to be on tour in 2009, including appearances at ‘Big Day Out’. The tour starts off Down Under in Australia and New Zealand from mid January. The band will then move to the US in February, with shows in California, Oregon, Wisconsin, Illinois, New York and Massachusetts. The tour will come to a close with a string of performances in their hometown i.e. Boston in the month of March.
The group had banded together in Quincy, Massachusetts and play a blend of traditional Irish music and hardcore punk. The most recent studio release of the Dropkick Murphys wa ‘The Meanest of Times’ in 2007.
