One of the original punk rockers from Los Angeles, The Germs have announced a headlining club tour across the nation. The tour takes off at Sacramento (CA) on July 12 and winds up at Austin (TX) on July 11. It hit a total of 16 cities including Salt Lake City (UT); Minneapolis (MN); New Orleans (LA) and San Antonio (TX). The Germs feature actor/front man Shane West guitarist Pat Smear, bassist Lorna Doom and drummer Don Bolles. The band was originally formed in 1977 and has had a very turbulent history. The band initially featured lead singer Darby Crash (Jan Paul Beahm) who committed suicide in 1980, after which The Germs disbanded. The current avatar of the band was first seen at the 2006 Vans Warped Tour. A film about Crash and the Germs, with West in the lead role called "What We Do Is Secret" was released in 2007.
