Green Day 2009 Tour with Roving Gallery

08/03/2009

The alternate rock group, Green Day, has decided to include a ‘roving gallery’ displaying artwork to their US tour already underway. The gallery displays work by 17 international artists and is inspired by the 18 songs in the band’s latest album. The tour started in Seattle on July 3 and ends on August 25 in Inglewood, CA. The band then moves on to performing in Europe, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. The US cities on the tour schedule for August include San Antonio (TX), Denver (CO) and Las Vegas (NV). Supplementing the artwork is a collection of portraits of the members of the band by Logan Hicks. The gallery is also organized and overseen by the New York artist. The group’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has expressed a feeling of “strong connection” to the artists’ work. The tour has so far resembled the one in 2005 for ‘American Idiot’.
